Cervical Screening Test

What is it?
A cervical screening test checks for abnormal (pre-cancerous) cells in your cervix - the entrance to your womb. This simple test helps prevent cervical cancer before it develops.
Who needs it?
Women aged 25-49: Every 3 years
Women aged 50-64: Every 5 years
(More frequent tests may be needed if previous results showed abnormal changes)
Important facts:
✔ This is NOT a cancer test - it checks your cervical cell health
✔ For about 1 in 20 women, some abnormal cells are found
✔ Most changes are harmless and may resolve naturally
✔ Some cases need treatment to prevent cancer development
