About Our Chaperones:
Always a qualified Practice Nurse or Healthcare Assistant
Fully familiar with examination procedures
Available to support you and address any concerns
If unavailable, we may reschedule your examination
Your Rights:
✓ You may decline any examination
✓ You can request a different examiner or chaperone
✓ You may ask for a chaperone at any time
✓ Doctors may postpone examinations if a chaperone is required but declined
The Chaperone’s Role:
Maintains professional boundaries, especially during intimate exams
Recognizes and respects patient vulnerability
Provides reassurance and emotional support
Assists with the examination if needed
Helps with dressing/undressing when necessary
