Emergencies

What is an Emergency?

Serious Symptoms? Don’t Wait—Get Emergency Help
If you or someone else has any of the following symptoms and it feels too severe to wait, go to A&E immediately or call 999:
Chest pain
Severe stomach pain
Vomiting blood
Black or tarry stools
Sudden breathlessness
A rash that doesn’t fade when pressed (glass test)
Signs of anaphylaxis (swollen mouth/throat, difficulty breathing)
In emergencies, a GP will prioritize your care—but always call 999 or go to A&E first if it’s life-threatening.

Minor Injuries

Minor injury? Get seen faster—call the surgery for an appointment within 48 hours.
